What utilities are included with the rent? At many buildings, heat and water is included. Please view the building page to see exactly which utilities are included with rent. Cable, phone and internet are not included in rent.
Where are your buildings? We have buildings in Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Lakewood and Shaker Heights, primarily around Shaker Square, Coventry and surrounding areas. We are accessible to Downtown, CWRU, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and many other schools and employers.
How do I lease an apartment? In order to lease or hold an apartment for you, we need an application filled out and signed by all adult residents, a $20 application fee for each applicant, and a payment in the amount of one month’s rent for the security deposit. Once the application is approved, we will hold the suite for you for up to 4 weeks. If the application is not approved, the security deposit will be refunded to you immediately.
Before you receive the keys to your apartment, we must complete a lease with you and walk through the apartment to complete a condition report. Your lease is generally available at our office as soon as your application is processed. The walk-through is completed the same day you receive your keys, which is also when you begin paying rent.
Please contact our office as soon as you know when you would like to do the walk-through, as an appointment is necessary for this and appointment times fill up quickly. Do you do short term or month-to-month leases? Short term leases are available for a limited number of suites, subject to availability. The shortest term we accept is 3 months.
Do you accept pets? We accept up to 2 cats per apartment. There is a $100-per-cat damage deposit due before the cats move in. We allow one dog per suite at Moreland Place only with $250 non-refundable fee and $$25 per month additional rent.
For Current Tenants: Where do I send my rent? Rent should be sent directly to the bank at the address given to you in your lease.
For a list of rental payment addresses, please click here. Addresses vary by the building in which you live, so please pay careful attention to which address you are sending your rent.
Who do I call to set up my utility or communication services? Utility and communication providers vary by building location. Please view our
Resident Resources page for a list of known providers. If access to your apartment is required by the provider, you must be there to let them in. Regrettably, we are unable to give access to occupied suites to providers.
What do I do if I need a repair in my suite? Please contact our main office at (216) 421-8400. If you reside at the Stuart House, please contact the on-site management office at (216) 671-2050. Please note that unfortunately we are not able to attend to requests for lightbulb or battery replacements except due to extenuating circumstances.
